Update Your Password
When you first started using the software, your system administrator will provide you with the necessary credentials to log in. Sometimes the password given to you is not strong enough or it is too complicated to remember. If that is the case, you can update the password to one that you can remember.
To do that:
- Make sure you are logged in
- Navigate to “My Profile” menu and you will find the “Change Password” option
Clicking on that option will bring up the “Update Password” prompt and you just need to enter your current password and the new password that you want to use.
Click on the “Change” button when you are done and your password should now be updated.
Most of the users often leverage the ability to store username and password information to the browser that they are using and this can potentially cause users to forget their username and password. This will create an issue if users switch browser/PC.
If you find yourself in that position when trying to log in, you can request your password to be reset.
To do that, click on the “Can’t access your account?” link from the login page.
You will be given the options to reset your password or to have your username sent to your email address. If you have forgotten your username, select the “Username” option and you will be asked to enter the email address that is associated to your RiskView account.
* Note for System Administrator: make sure all users have valid email addresses
You should receive an automated email that contains your username:
Click on the “Password” option if you have forgotten password and it will ask for your username.
Once you’ve entered your username, an automated email will be sent to you, which contains the reset code for the next phase.
Enter the reset code and your new password, click on the “Send” button to send the password changes to the server. Now you can log in with the new password.
